To support Shine’s growing partnerships with government organisations on their digital delivery journey, Shine has established business operations in Canberra with the appointment of Steven Bridle as General Manager of Public Sector Consulting.
Steve is well known in Canberra IT circles from his four years with Amazon Web Services (AWS), where he has been a key member of the AWS public sector leadership team, and for a time was Acting Head of Public Sector Professional Services. He has played a pivotal role in many software development projects and large-scale cloud migrations for government departments and agencies. At Shine, Steve will lead both the Canberra practice and the Public Sector Consulting Practice.
Shine’s CEO and founder, Mark Johnson, explained the significance of this new role in the organisation. “Establishing operations in Canberra is a natural growth progression for Shine as our reputation for being a trusted and pragmatic technology partner to government organisations expands. Steve is the ideal person to lead our growing Public Sector Consulting practice, not just because of his government expertise, deep technical knowledge, and focus on delivering valuable citizen outcomes for public sector organisations. But also because he shares our core values and ethics for putting people first and sharing knowledge generously.“
“Having worked very closely with Steve on recent high-stakes government projects, I’ve been incredibly impressed by his great leadership, deep technical expertise and pragmatic focus on delivering customer outcomes. He’s a great fit with our organisational values and his AWS experience will further strengthen our great relationship with AWS,” added Shine’s CTO, Luke Alexander.
With a 14-year career as a software engineer, architect and consultant, Steve spoke of his motivation to join Shine. “Working alongside Shine on a number of projects I’ve found they share the same passion and focus for delivering excellent results for public sector organisations to improve the lives of Australians. I’m excited to be joining an amazing team with leaders who truly value and appreciate technical expertise.”
